I love to create things! I mostly compose and perform music in three bands (Sup, Muscles?, HIGHDEAF, and Hradio Signal) playing guitar, but i also play a bit of bass in my electronic compositions. I love to create art usually with a pencil, but I'm starting to experiment with colors and mixing up the process of creating something. I'm fascinated by the different cultures in our world, the unknown universe, and our existence.

Curiot and Kelly Vivanco at Thinkspace Gallery.

Opening this Saturday, September 13th at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California are two new solo shows by Curiot and Kelly Vivanco.

Curiot will be presenting “The Moktulen Kingdom" in Thinkspace’s Project Room.  The show will feature his stylistically rich creatures that shine through their electric color palettes and feature themes from Curiot’s heritage of growing up in Mexico.

Kelly Vinvanco will be presenting “Peculiar Tides" in Thinkspace’s Main Gallery.  Kelly’s playful work takes on a childlike sense of adventure which in turns allow the viewer to endlessly imagine scenarios drawn from their own senses after viewing the works.

Map of Titan, the largest moon of Saturn
The global VIMS map of Titan’s surface displayed here as a false-color composite using the VIMS channels at 4.8–5.2 μm as red, at 2 μm as green, and 1.27 μm as blue including Titan’s recent nomenclature (from Stephan et al., 2009). The map is displayed in a simple cylindrical projection centered at 0°N and 180°W.

FEEL LIKE THROWING UP? LET FLYING LOTUS’ ALBUM TEASER HELP YOU

Leftfield electronic music producer Flying Lotus has a new record coming out in October, on Warp, and took it upon himself to release this slightly nausea-inducing teaser video for it.

Maybe he called the album You’re Dead! to tap into how most of us will view after watching this thing? Whatever the case may be, a new FlyLo album generally always inspires excitement. On this one, he’s pulled in the likes of jazz legend Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar.

Let’s hope the album itself makes us feel some type of way, but not violently ill.

This has some real weird images in it, but it’s really worth watching. Can’t wait for the new album!!

Fibonacci you crazy bastard….

As seen in the solar system (by no ridiculous coincidence), Earth orbits the Sun 8 times in the same period that Venus orbits the Sun 13 times! Drawing a line between Earth & Venus every week results in a spectacular FIVE side symmetry!!

Lets bring up those Fibonacci numbers again: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34..

So if we imagine planets with Fibonacci orbits, do they create Fibonacci symmetries?!

You bet!! Depicted here is a:

  • 2 sided symmetry (5 orbits x 3 orbits)
  • 3 sided symmetry (8 orbits x 5 orbits)
  • sided symmetry (13 orbits x 8 orbits) - like Earth & Venus
  • sided symmetry (21 orbits x 13 orbits)

I wonder if relationships like this exist somewhere in the universe….
